Frisco is a family-oriented town that offers affordable and
diverse lodging, shopping and dining options. Tucked against the soaring peaks
of the Ten Mile Range, with Lake Dillon
at its border, there is plenty to do outdoors.
In the winter, Frisco is known for great Nordic skiing, backcountry ski trails
and snowshoeing trails, and dinner sleigh rides.
In the summer, the Frisco
Peninsula draws bicycle riders,
Frisbee golfers, softball teams and hikers. The Frisco Bay Marina offers
motorboat, sailboat, canoe and kayak rentals for a scenic ride around Lake
Dillon. In addition, Frisco offers
a skateboard park and several summer concerts providing entertainment for the
entire family.
Before you set out for a day of hiking or boating, enjoy the views from one of
Frisco's fine communities.
The views from Frisco are in every direction. When jogging or skiing
out by the openspace still undeveloped on the Frisco Penninsula - and gazing
back at the town, the clouds appear as if they might be
fog in a Norwegian small town. But this is Colorado!

SUMMIT COUNTY - As the ball gets rolling toward November's elections, precinct caucuses on Tuesday night will determine which local Democrats and Republicans are to represent their parties. "They'll be picking representatives to the county assembly and precinct chairs," Summit County Clerk and Recorder Kathy Neel said. "And the county assembly is where county candidates gain access to the ballot." The caucuses begin at 6 p.m.. The Republicans will meet at the Summit County Community Senior Center while the Democrats meet at Summit Middle School; both locations are in Frisco. The caucuses are also to include straw polls for such offices as governor and U.S. senator. To participate in a party caucus, one must have been registered to vote in the county for at least 30 days and affiliated with the political party for at least 60 days. Debra Irvine, chair of Summit County Republicans and House District 56 candidate, said that at the Republican caucuses,

FRISCO - In light of a still struggling economy and many financial unknowns, Frisco town officials will likely delay its "Step up Main Street" redevelopment project. The Town of Frisco is currently focused on redeveloping the area between Summit Boulevard and Madison Avenue on Main Street to create a cohesive, historic look for its main drag. Town manager Michael Penny said at a Tuesday council work session that construction on Frisco's Main Street project should be pushed back to 2012, instead of 2011 as initially planned. "We're going to have to get real about when we can do that," Penny said, noting that the town must be able to support its current infrastructure before it does anything new. Town staff will to wait to see how 2010 finances pan out before moving forward on the large-scale plans to revamp Frisco's Main Street design. Designer Mary Hart has already drawn up a tentative vision for the town's Main Street ̵

FRISCO - Interstate 70 congestion, the Dillon Dam Road and local transit operations are up for discussion tonight at a public meeting in the Summit County Community and Senior Center. Participants are to include Frisco town manager and I-70 Coalition chair Michael Penny, Colorado State Patrol Captain John Lupton, Summit County Sheriff John Minor as well as officials from Denver Water and Summit Stage. "With the downturn in the economy, Summit County's free public transportation system faces challenges in maintaining a level of service that visitors and lo

The latest version of www.SummitCARES.org offers a bill tracker for following legislation through the state Capitol, safe online storage of medical records accessible by designated users, educational databases and more.
